Clean all surfaces carefully before each application and only use clean, lint-free cloths. The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. 3M 08984 Adhesive cleaner 1L

The 3M adhesive cleaner based on distilled petroleum effectively removes adhesive residues, grease, wax and oil from many different surfaces. For example, it creates the ideal conditions for achieving a perfect result when re-bonding. Due to its low drying tendency, it is extremely efficient and enables several layers of adhesive to be removed. However, you should not use the cleaner on painted surfaces that are not yet completely dry.
