The product was developed for the structural bonding of low-energy plastics such as PE, PP and TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) without surface pre-treatment such as corona, plasma etc.. Other plastics such as ABS, rigid PVC, PMMA, PS, PC, fibre composites, as well as glass, wood, etc. can also be bonded with good strength. Metals should be primed or painted beforehand. 3M Scotch-Weld DP8407NS (non-sag) is a solvent-free and non-flowing two-component acrylate-based construction adhesive with a short working time of 5 to 7 minutes. The viscoplastic adhesive with a mixing ratio of 10:1 is characterised by high tensile shear strength and is suitable for high-strength bonding of metals (e.g. aluminium, bronze, stainless steel, copper, brass, galvanised steel, zinc), plastics (e.g. ABS, PC, PMMA and PVC) and other materials. The DP8407NS contains glass beads for setting the optimum adhesive layer thickness and has a high temperature resistance.
