Scotch insulating varnish is an acrylic resin-based insulating and coating varnish in red, black or grey. It is therefore particularly suitable for colour coding or as visual protection. It forms a flexible and resistant film that adheres excellently to all common materials such as metal, glass, plastic or wood. The varnish is resistant to acids, oil and alkalis as well as moisture, UV radiation and other weather influences. It is also characterised by extremely high dielectric strength. It is used as a protective coating on electrical connections, switches, switchgear, terminal boards, electronic components, coils, windings and sheet metal packages. It can also be used on electrical equipment in vehicles and for repairing electric motors, but also as a flexible protective coating for construction drawings and the like. It is temperature-resistant up to 120 °C. The insulating varnish is dust-dry after 15 minutes and fully cured after 120 minutes.
