3M polyimide film 92 is characterised above all by its extreme temperature resistance and very good dielectric properties. In conjunction with a high-quality silicone adhesive, it forms a powerful combination of mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties, which remain stable in a temperature range of -40 °C to +180 °C. This means that the insulating tape belongs to insulating material class H. The 0.076 millimetre thin adhesive tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 7,500 volts and is flame-retardant in accordance with UL 510. The polyimide film is therefore suitable for applications where it is exposed to high temperature fluctuations, particularly for masking contacts when soldering circuit boards. As it is printable, it can also be used for cable bundling and labelling, among other things.
